Welcome to Large Transformations in Sexual Health.
Lilka Areton, Ph.D.
Many of us have wanted to lose weight in order to be more sexually desirable. We have heard all our lives that once we are thin, our partners will want us and prefer us. My name is Lilka Areton. I received a Ph.D. in Sexology from The Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, CA. My doctoral dissertation was Factors in the Sexual Satisfaction of Obese Women in Relationships. It was designed to determine the correlating behaviors and attitudes that accompanied sexual fulfillment for large women. Contradicting everything our society tells us, I discovered that the key to sexual satisfaction had no connection whatsoever to the weight and the BMI of the large woman. As you can read in my dissertation, there are a number of other important correlating factors.
A few years ago, I lost 100 lbs with bariatric surgery and have been living as a thinner woman since then. The purpose of this web site is to discover how weight loss for men and for women has influenced or has failed to influence the quality of their sexual lives. If you have something to contribute and something to learn about this subject, we would be interested in hearing from you.
I have also designed a brief questionnaire on this subject in order to learn more. Thank you for visiting this site. I hope it will engage and inform all of us to a high degree.
